About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Maintain refrigeration, steam, and compressed air systems.
  • Follow company policies, including performance and safety standards.
  • Ensure proper operation of plant and office HVAC systems.
  • Conduct daily rounds for temperature, water filters, and ventilation.
  • Complete assigned maintenance PM work orders.
  • Operate manlifts or forklifts.
  • Lift and carry up to 20+ kg.
  • Climb ladders and work from heights.

Requirements

  • Legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Possess a Refrigeration Operator Class B License or 3rd Class Operating Engineer.
  • Experience with ammonia refrigeration and compressed air systems.
  • Experience with boilers and steam.
  • Knowledge of TSSA standards.
  • Familiarity with good manufacturing practices.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work day, afternoon, midnight shifts, and possibly weekends.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work effectively and lead within a team.
  • Willingness to work from heights, outdoors in various weather conditions, inside the plant, in confined spaces, and in a potentially physically strenuous environment around live animals.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial safety, food safety, and environmental regulations with a commitment to safety.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to be part of a high-performing team.
