About the Role

Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty. Designers meet with customers, understand their project needs, educate them on requirements, and create a design concept that aligns with their personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers and support store design walk-in needs.
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking, referrals, and store leads.
• Provide expert advice on tile, wood, stone, and accessories for residential and commercial projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing flooring solutions.
• Manage multiple customer projects simultaneously from start to finish with accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain consistent and concise communication with customers and internal teams.
• Utilize company communication tools and emails effectively.
• Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation.
• Achieve sales and other store goals.
• Support company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices.
• Stay informed about current and emerging design trends in the market.
• Understand and utilize design applications such as Salesforce, Online Design Appointment Scheduler, and MyProject.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of one (1) year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience.
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position.
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite.
