About the Role

Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty. Designers meet with customers, understand their project needs, educate them on requirements, and build a creative design concept incorporating their personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

Responsibilities

  • Greet store customers and support store design walk-in needs.
  • Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking, referrals, and store leads.
  • Provide expert advice on tile, wood, stone, and accessories for residential and commercial projects.
  • Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions.
  • Manage multiple customer projects simultaneously from start to finish with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain consistent and concise communication with customers and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation.
  • Achieve sales and other company goals.
  • Enthusiastically support company initiatives by modeling and coaching best practices.
  • Stay informed on current and emerging design trends.
  • Utilize design applications such as Salesforce, Online Design Appointment Scheduler, and MyProject.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience.
  • Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position.
