About the Role

The DRE will be responsible for the entire design period from concept design to release for components, systems, and sub-systems within vehicle programs. This individual will build strong partnerships with internal and external team members responsible for design, validation, procurement, and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and lead projects according to client requirements and manage projects with offshore teams.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between project teams, ensuring alignment on technical specifications, project timelines, and budgetary goals.
  • Foster collaboration and maintain critical communication channels between internal and external engineers and key suppliers in Japan, India, and the US.
  • Act as the central point of coordination for all project stakeholders, facilitating technical reviews, resolving scope issues, and ensuring a unified project vision.

Requirements

  • Basic skills in CATIA V6 (3D EXPERIENCE) with experience in Generative Shape Design (GSD), Part Design, Assembly Design, and Drafting.
  • 5+ years of experience in design and development of automotive resin parts for Interior/Exterior (soft and hard trim).
  • 5+ years of experience working with an OEM or Tier 1 supplier for Interior/Exterior resin parts developments.
  • 3+ years of experience leading a team to manage projects (technical guidance, managing schedule and quality of outputs).
  • Knowledge of solid/surface modeling and mechanical drafting.
  • Understanding of automotive development schedules.
  • Thorough understanding of various resin parts manufacturing processes, DFMEA, GD&T, and cumulative tolerance analysis.
  • Preference for candidates with Honda parts development experience.
  • Japanese-English bilingual skills are required (JLPT N3 or higher).
  • MS Office skills such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams are essential.
