About the Role
Better Living Health and Community Services has an opening for an Activities Leader- Seniors. This position is responsible for assisting in planning and implementing programs, and support Active Living Programs at both Senior Active Living Centres.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning, preparation, and delivery of Active Living programs at both Overland and Deauville locations.
- Assist the Active Living Programs team with daily program operations, including set-up, facilitation, and take-down of program spaces.
- Provide front desk and on-site support, including greeting participants, answering general inquiries, and assisting with registrations where needed.
- Assist with data entry, attendance tracking, and basic program statistics.
- Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and organized program environment for participants.
- Provide general administrative support, including filing, binder updates, and documentation tasks.
- Promote positive participant engagement and encourage inclusive participation in programs.
- Provide services in keeping with the organization’s Mission, Vision and Beliefs and Resident Declaration of Values.
- Adhere to the principles and expectations outlined in the Code of Conduct.
- Adhere to the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA 2010) as outlined in the organization privacy policies and procedures.
- Perform the functions of job description in compliance with the Health and Safety practices of the organization and in accordance with the provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Participate in the continuous quality improvement activities of the organization in order to advance a culture of quality and support ongoing compliance with CARF Accreditation standards.
Requirements
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment.
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred.
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Successful completion of Vulnerable Sector Screening within one month of employment.
