This role drives consistent quality engineering execution across multiple product/application teams, embedding quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing organization of quality engineering leaders, engineers, and SDETs.
  • Promote a culture of shared quality ownership and “built-in quality” within agile delivery teams.
  • Drive a scalable delivery model for quality engineering with clear standards and reusable assets.
  • Own end-to-end delivery quality outcomes across the insurance technology portfolio.
  • Ensure quality planning and execution across functional, integration, end-to-end, and regression validation.
  • Lead defect management practices including triage, root cause analysis, and prevention strategies.
  • Provide release readiness assessments and technical release validation.
  • Coordinate production quality support, including incident quality analysis and post-release learning.
  • Drive AI- and automation-first quality engineering practices.
  • Establish and maintain segment-level automated regression capabilities.
  • Integrate quality signals into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Leverage standards, patterns, and reusable assets for consistency and scalability.
  • Partner with engineering teams to modernize test frameworks and automation approaches.
  • Coordinate non-functional testing strategies and execution (performance, reliability/resiliency, and operational readiness).
  • Ensure security validation execution aligns with enterprise standards and SDLC controls.
  • Promote risk-based testing approaches.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Platform, and DevOps leaders to embed quality throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Influence engineering practices that improve reliability, scalability, and member/provider experience.
  • Align portfolio priorities with enterprise quality engineering direction.
  • Adhere to quality metrics, reporting, and governance processes.
  • Partner with the enablement team to refine and evolve portfolio-relevant measures, insights, and governance routines.
  • Use quality insights to identify systemic improvement opportunities and drive maturity progress.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering, quality engineering or testing.
  • Demonstrated experience leading quality engineering organizations supporting large-scale enterprise applications.
  • Proven success leading quality engineering modernization and transformation initiatives (automation, tooling, operating model, and metrics-driven execution).
  • Experience managing senior leaders and geographically distributed teams.
  • Strong understanding of modern software delivery practices including Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD.
  • Familiarity with quality engineering approaches across API, UI, integration, and end-to-end validation within distributed and cloud-native architectures.
