About the Role

Air Canada is seeking a highly skilled Structures Engineer to join the TechOps Fleet Engineering Team. This role focuses on in-service reliability, configuration management, cost control, and process improvement, while managing maintenance programs and aircraft engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze aircraft and component performance to identify root causes of failures and improve reliability.
  • Participate in the Reliability Working Group and provide delay analysis and corrective action programs.
  • Evaluate Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives with cost/benefit analysis.
  • Support aircraft modification programs, special projects, and fleet acquisitions.
  • Develop and obtain financial approvals for Mandatory Airworthiness Requirements and continuous airworthiness instructions.
  • Disseminate technical information through fleet campaigns and engineering controls.
  • Provide technical expertise to internal and external stakeholders including MOC, Line Maintenance, and MROs.
  • Assist with revisions to Minimum Equipment List manuals.
  • Optimize maintenance programs based on reliability data.
  • Support internal delegation projects and modifications per TCCA requirements.
  • Represent Engineering in multidiscipline meetings.
  • Identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities through modifications and repair development.
  • Prepare cost estimates, technical instructions, and project evaluations.
  • Collaborate with team members to provide seamless engineering support.
  • Monitor fleet performance using health monitoring tools and maintenance reports.
  • Manage aircraft and component configuration and maintenance specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with Transport Canada regulations and corporate requirements.
  • Design and develop engineering documentation compliant with airworthiness standards.
  • Prepare repair instructions, processes, and procedures.
  • Consult with OEMs and Transport Canada.
  • Participate in airworthiness and safety investigations.
  • Provide on-site engineering support during off-hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Develop airframe repair solutions for damage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Practical experience with aircraft maintenance and/or engineering.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical documentation.
  • Ability to write clear, concise technical descriptions, instructions, reports, and drawings.
  • Ability to provide technical and troubleshooting guidance to maintenance personnel.
  • Demonstrated punctuality and dependability.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada at the time of offer.
