About the Role
The Warehouse Team Lead oversees a wide variety of warehouse activities, organizing and scheduling production work to ensure revenue goals are attained. This role maintains a safe and productive work environment while processing donated goods, salvage materials, store inventory, and trash.
Responsibilities
- Assigns tasks to achieve required daily warehouse productivity as directed by the Warehouse Manager.
- Measures and reports the effectiveness of department activities.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet warehouse demands based on production schedules and workflow.
- Interprets company policies and enforces safety regulations.
- Develops and maintains departmental work instructions for all tasks.
- Monitors the loading and unloading of trucks.
- Manages trash flow daily.
- Prepares reports and employee documentation when required.
- Manages equipment flow.
- Provides good customer service.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Minimum of 2 years prior supervisory experience, preferably in waste, warehouse, and logistics.
- Driver experience preferred.
- Experience with material handling equipment required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to make calculations such as discounts, freight estimates, dimensional weight, invoices, and percentages.
- Knowledge of general business computer software and aptitude to learn new software applications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
- Supervises at least 2 or more full-time employees.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 50lbs), carry (up to 50lbs), kneel, push/pull, bend/stoop, reach, turn, and perform repetitive motions.
- More than 2/3 of the day may require standing, using fingers, hands or feet.
