About the Role

As a Financial Services Representative, you will join a team of highly engaged financial service professionals dedicated to providing an exceptional Member Experience. Your primary responsibilities will be to understand the financial needs of our Members and provide appropriate advice and recommendations. This includes completing front-line transactional services and fulfilling an advisory sales role by opening new accounts, offering credit, identifying wealth referral opportunities, and positioning Meridian’s products and services to add value to our Members' financial well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the financial needs of our Members and provide the appropriate advice and recommendations.
  • Complete front line transactional services to support Members' day-to-day banking.
  • Fulfill advisory sales roles such as opening new accounts and offering credit.
  • Identify opportunities for wealth referrals.
  • Position Meridian’s products and services to add value to Members' financial well-being.
  • Align financial strategies and activities to support Meridian’s internal business partners.
  • Meet and exceed specific individual goals and contribute towards team-based business results.
  • Proactively engage in revenue generating and sales-based activities.
  • Foster and deepen Member relationships.
  • Refer business to other channels.
  • Deliver an exceptional Member experience and offer insights to continually grow our Member Experience.
  • Serve Members with excellence.
  • Provide a superior Member experience through the identification and promotion of products and services.
  • Provide qualified referrals based on identified needs.
  • Champion and implement corporate strategies and programs for the branch.
  • Ensure proper due diligence by posting all transactions accurately and timely.
  • Take responsibility to ensure accuracy and completeness of all work.
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality to respect Members' privacy.
  • Identify and fulfill Member requests and identify opportunities to grow the relationship.
  • Demonstrate excellent listening and strong consultative skills.
  • Embrace virtual technology platforms and leverage them to host meetings and engage in impactful communication with Members.
  • Remove systemic barriers to exceptional Member Experience.
  • Identify and contribute to the continuous enhancement of the Member Experience.
  • Resolve Member Concerns and create action plans to avoid future escalation.
  • Engage in revenue generation and sales-based activities to achieve performance objectives.
  • Provide investment advice by identifying and promoting solutions that fit and meet Member needs.
  • Approve or provide recommendations on credit products based on thorough credit interviewing and underwriting skills.
  • Open new Member accounts using account opening strategies.
  • Execute on strategy.
  • Take initiative and accountability.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Develop cross-functional relationships.
  • Execute Retail strategies to ensure continued momentum across Meridian including Omni Channel integration.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of branch business plans.
  • Participate and execute with the team our Community engagement plan.
  • Promote Meridian Credit Union in the community by participating in and being involved in community activities or events.
  • Support local community organizations and activities through Business Development and Good Neighbor Program.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver Meridian hosted Community events.

Requirements

  • Strong desire for career growth within the financial services industry.
  • Strong business acumen and financial industry knowledge.
  • Flexible to work all scheduled hours which include evenings and weekends.
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems.
  • Ability to make decisions, act decisively and provide friendly and personable service.
