About the Role
Discord is seeking a Product Manager to lead efforts in combating scaled abuse, including fake accounts, account takeovers, and scraping, to ensure a safe and welcoming platform for users. This role involves defining product vision, strategy, and execution for abuse prevention, with significant opportunity for impact and ownership.
Responsibilities
- Own the product philosophy, vision, and multi-quarter roadmap for scaled abuse.
- Prioritize proactive, foundational investments that compound across the platform.
- Define, own, and socialize north-star metrics for the space and report progress.
- Translate threat research into forward-looking defensive product work.
- Drive cross-functional execution with growth, security, anti-abuse, and product teams.
- Minimize impact of abuse on users through machine learning solutions, heuristics, and in-app features.
- Partner with product teams to embed abuse resistance into new surfaces before they ship.
Requirements
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and solve complex, adversarial problems.
- 5+ years of experience as a product manager building and shipping software.
- Experience driving prioritization, trade-offs, and timelines.
- Experience designing and shipping user-facing anti-abuse features.
- Strong product sense and understanding of Discord and its users.
- Strong analytical ability to leverage data for product decisions.
- Previous work in spam, abuse, fraud, account integrity, or Trust & Safety.
- Sufficient technical domain expertise to drive alignment with technical stakeholders.
