About the Role
The Associate Trust Officer will manage a book of estate and trust accounts, serve as a role model to Trust Administrators, and ensure the ongoing delivery of premium service to partners and their clients. This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and oversee timely, accurate, and professional administration of estate, trust, and power of attorney accounts (fiduciary and agency).
- Resolve client and partner inquiries and concerns efficiently.
- Exercise discretion as afforded in will, trust agreement, or power of attorney documents.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Operations, Legal, and other business lines to resolve account administration issues.
- Participate in audit activities, including business line oversight, internal audit, and regulatory audits.
- Contribute to the review and discussion of discretionary decisions.
- Participate in the creation, modification, and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Build strategic relationships with COIs (lawyers, accountants, financial advisors) to enhance collaboration.
- Fulfill other assigned duties and projects.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of estate and trust industry experience or other relevant industry.
- Experience managing estate, trust, and power of attorney accounts is preferred.
- Experience working with HNW clients and their wealth advisors.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills.
- In-depth knowledge of estates, trusts, and powers of attorney for property laws.
- Intra-provincial travel may occasionally be required.
