About the Role

The Psychotherapist works within a multi-disciplinary team at the Downtown East HART Hub to provide individual and group psychotherapy. This role supports service users with complex needs, including homelessness, substance use, and mental health challenges, while assisting the Director of Clinical Programs and Services in program delivery.

Responsibilities

• Conduct weekly individual sessions with complex clients
• Facilitate and co-facilitate DBT or other therapy groups
• Attend weekly case conferences
• Collaborate with service providers to ensure continuity of care
• Manage client files, admissions, case notes, and discharges using the Client Management System
• Collaborate with the Director and Program Manager on program design and implementation
• Liaise with community partners, resources, and referral sources
• Conduct formal assessments for substance use and health issues
• Facilitate psychosocial group programs as needed
• Provide brief interventions and health promotion
• Support additional program tasks as required

Requirements

• Graduate degree in Psychotherapy, Counselling Psychology, or equivalent
• Membership in good standing of a regulated health profession permitted to conduct the Controlled Act of Psychotherapy
• Demonstrated experience in screening, assessment, supportive counseling, case coordination, and brief intervention
• Demonstrated experience in motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy
• Demonstrated experience with group development, facilitation, and evaluation
• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement
