About the Role

This role involves assisting the tax manager in managing tax compliance processes and providing tax advisory support for investments. The tax specialist will handle tax compliance for SPVs globally, advise on tax structuring, coordinate tax initiatives, and ensure adherence to group tax policy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing tax compliance matters for SPVs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of filings.
  • Review tax computations and monitor the reporting process.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to advise on tax accounting entries.
  • Work with external tax advisors and internal teams to support tax compliance oversight across jurisdictions.
  • Assist the tax manager in providing tax advisory support for business and M&A projects.
  • Support handling tax enquiries and potential disputes with tax authorities.
  • Assist the tax manager in coordinating timely tax advice on enquiries from other teams.
  • Assist in drafting and communicating tax reports to HQ.
  • Assist the tax manager with general tax-related work.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of tax work experience in an accounting or law firm, or in the industry.
  • Strong understanding of tax compliance processes and requirements.
  • Adequate knowledge and experience of corporation tax and VAT related issues.
  • Adequate knowledge of Transfer Pricing and practical experience.
  • Proficiency in analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • A proactive 'can-do' attitude with a willingness to engage in hands-on work.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Written and verbal Mandarin proficiency is preferred.
  • Bachelor/Master degree in Taxation or Accounting, or a related field.
  • Qualified or partially qualified UK/EU tax advisor is preferred.
