About the Role

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 that prioritizes meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians, primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, CGL offers customized services to private and public sector clients, including uniformed guard, mobile response, by-law enforcement, and identification services. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Responsibilities

Identify and clarify resident needs, answer questions, and provide directions and instructions.
Provide exceptional customer service to clients, customers, contractors, and visitors.
Perform access control, CCTV surveillance, contractor escorts, and report writing.
Manage visitor access, parcels, and keys.
Handle night shift book-keeping for system-released packages.
Book guest suites and other site amenities.
Conduct routine property patrols of all building levels, parking areas, and perimeters.
Respond to emergencies and fire alarms.
Perform property inspections, including pool chemical balance testing and property rules enforcement.
Assist in emergencies, provide first aid, or intervene as needed.
Interact with visitors, customers, and the general public.
Detect, challenge, and displace unwanted individuals.
Collect information on complaints or events.
Maintain a positive and productive work environment through teamwork.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Client or Regional Manager.

Requirements

Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to complete frequent patrols.
Ability to speak, read, and communicate fluently in English.
Ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service.
Availability to cover extra shifts when needed.
Must be highly reliable.
Must work well under pressure.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Must possess the ability to multitask.
Must be a professional who takes pride in dress, deportment, and performance.
