About the Role

Catapult is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to join our London office. You will be instrumental in planning, designing, building, and testing features for our next-generation cloud platform. This platform integrates digital video, wearable data, and athlete information to provide crucial insights and analytics, ultimately optimizing athlete performance. We are committed to delivering a high-quality experience and maximizing customer performance through continuous improvement and rapid development cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Own infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Design, build, and maintain logging, monitoring, alerting, and SLO/SLI frameworks for system health and performance.
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for fast, safe, and repeatable software delivery.
  • Oversee the availability, scalability, and performance of cloud and on-prem infrastructure.
  • Ensure all systems align with corporate security standards and global regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR) and implement cloud security controls.
  • Lead a security-first approach, collaborating with Security and IT teams to ensure timely patching.
  • Collaborate with security teams to embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines and platform services.
  • Define and execute the long-term technical roadmap for Catapult’s global cloud platform.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies like Serverless, AI-driven operations, and Containerization.
  • Contribute to infrastructure decisions, establishing "Golden Paths" and reusable Infrastructure as Code patterns.
  • Architect and champion a "Shift-Left" security strategy, integrating automated security guardrails into CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in DevOps, Site Reliability, Platform, or Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Tenure in a technical leadership role.
  • Deep expertise in the AWS cloud platform and associated security and compliance practices.
  • Strong background in infrastructure automation (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and observability tooling.
  • Proven experience with large platform redesigns and architecture of new cloud infrastructure systems.
  • Solid understanding of AppSec principles, including integrating security into build and deploy pipelines.
  • Experience managing hybrid environments, including traditional data centers and on-prem services.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence across engineering, security, and finance.
  • Experience with regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, fintech).
  • Familiarity with multiple compliance frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
