About the Role
Proximity Institute is seeking an individual aspiring to be an Ontario hospital CEO to join our Board of Directors for a two-year, non-renewable term. This recruitment targets individuals who have participated in Proximity’s Propel program, bringing a deep understanding of hospital leadership complexities and experience on the path to CEO to guide strategic priorities and foster stakeholder relationships.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight and governance to ensure Proximity Institute’s purpose, mission, vision, and values are upheld.
- Leverage leadership experience in hospitals to provide insight on building a robust provincial leadership pipeline.
- Contribute to the development and monitoring of the strategic plan and fiscal stewardship.
- Champion stakeholder engagement, ensuring diverse voices and perspectives are represented in decision-making.
- Collaborate with the CEO and executive leadership to evaluate performance, manage risk, and drive innovation.
- Serve as an ambassador for Proximity Institute, fostering trust and building partnerships.
Requirements
- Must have participated in Proximity’s Propel program.
- Must be an Ontario hospital leader who aspires to lead at the CEO-level in the future.
- Must have actively considered their development path and be pursuing acceleration through mentorship, readiness assessment, or targeted development.
- Must be able to provide firsthand perspective about the conditions and challenges of pursuing the CEO role.
- Must have experience in financial oversight, risk management, and performance monitoring at the board level.
- Must be able to dedicate the time and energy required for active participation in board and committee meetings.
