About the Role
The Banking and Finance team advises on a wide range of funding arrangements, acting for borrowers and lenders. The team is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate with experience in Trade Finance to join them. The role involves handling bilateral and syndicated secured and unsecured lending, trade finance, banking regulation, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Undertake fee-earning work and provide a profitable contribution to the division.
- Contribute to the successful development of the firm in line with the business plan.
- Engage in relevant business development and marketing work.
- Deliver a high-quality commercial legal service, ensuring compliance with quality standards and professional ethics.
- Act as an ambassador for the firm and promote it positively.
Requirements
- Admitted to the roll of solicitors
- 4+ years post qualification experience
- Experience in letters of credit and bills of exchange
- Experience with credit and non-payment risk insurance
- Familiarity with electronic shipping and trade documentation
- Understanding of borrowing base and reserve based lending structures
- Experience with export credit arrangements
- Experience with pre-payment and limited recourse financing
- Experience in receivables finance
- Knowledge of transfer of receivables and forfaiting
- Familiarity with silent payment guarantees and independent payment undertakings
- Experience with oils, gas, metals, and soft commodities
