About the Role
The Production Supervisor oversees daily operations in the enrobing department, ensuring production goals are met while maintaining compliance with company policies, GMPs, food safety standards, quality requirements, and customer specifications. This role supervises approximately 70 employees across two shifts, managing workforce, production scheduling, operational efficiency, employee development, and administrative functions.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily enrobing production activities to ensure production schedules are achieved.
- Monitor production lines to maximize efficiency, minimize downtime, and meet productivity targets.
- Ensure products are manufactured according to approved recipes, specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
- Coordinate staffing and labor allocation based on production demands.
- Work closely with Planning, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Warehouse departments to support operational goals.
- Monitor equipment performance and communicate maintenance needs promptly.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, GMPs, food safety programs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate and address deviations, non-conformances, and quality concerns in a timely manner.
- Support internal and external audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Supervise, coach, and develop a workforce of approximately 70 production employees.
- Provide training, performance feedback, and ongoing development opportunities.
- Conduct performance evaluations and address employee relations matters in accordance with company policies.
- Promote a positive, respectful, and accountable work environment.
- Ensure employees follow safety procedures and maintain a culture of workplace safety.
- Maintain accurate production records, labor reports, attendance records, and departmental documentation.
- Review and approve employee timekeeping and attendance records.
- Assist with scheduling, staffing plans, and overtime management.
- Prepare production reports and communicate departmental performance metrics to management.
- Participate in interviews, onboarding, and workforce planning activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing, confectionery, or related production environments.
- Experience managing large teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and supervise production operations for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and alternate shifts as business needs require.
