About the Role

Under the direct supervision of the Operations Director, Assistant Director Day Habilitation Program Coordinator, and program without walls administration team, the Day Program Specialist ensures the safety and well-being of all participants in our community-based program. Staff act as teachers, role models, and support to the individuals served, treating everyone with dignity and respect. The role provides a caring, enabling, empowering, and supportive setting that promotes increased independence.

Responsibilities

Assist, supervise, support, and instruct individuals to promote independence and integration into their community.
Teach skills in Life Safety Training, Communication Skills Training, Cooking, budgeting & shopping, Money Management Skills Trainings, Socialization Skills Training, and Recreational activities.
Engage in individual and group social, health-related, and recreation activities.
Assist in the development and implementation of habilitation plans and goal development.
Complete daily documentation accurately and timely, including Range of Scan, supervision, and trip forms.
Provide safe transportation to and from the day program and during community outings.
Work collaboratively as a team member with supervisors and co-workers.
Follow management instructions and maintain accountability for whereabouts.
Maintain a safe, clean, and stress-free environment.
Complete all required trainings.
Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the operation of the day program.

Requirements
