About the Role

taleroo is building a digital platform connecting job seekers, government agencies, and training providers in Germany, focusing on skills profiling, AI-driven training recommendations, and automated progress reporting with a strong emphasis on GDPR compliance.

Responsibilities

• Own features end-to-end, from initial concept to production deployment.
• Translate user journeys into technical specifications, implement full-stack solutions, and develop automated E2E tests.
• Lead the team's engineering standards for AI coding agents and configure MCP servers for development efficiency.
• Build and maintain Playwright test suites for critical user journeys, aiming for 100% coverage on revenue-critical flows.
• Define SLOs, implement observability tools (Sentry, OpenTelemetry), and manage incident response for owned systems.
• Maintain and design systems in compliance with GDPR principles, including data minimization and EU-only hosting.
• Document architectural decisions using ADRs and participate in technical discussions.

Requirements

• Proven experience shipping complex production systems end-to-end, preferably as an early startup engineer or in a high-bar product team.
• Fluency in TypeScript across the full stack, including Next.js 15+/React 19+ (App Router, Server Components, Server Actions), and PostgreSQL with an ORM (Drizzle or Prisma).
• Daily, fluent use of AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent) as a primary tool.
• Production-grade experience with Playwright (or Cypress).
• Experience with on-call incident response and structured logging.
• Baseline literacy in GDPR/BDSG (§32 BDSG) is a strong plus.
• Highly autonomous individual capable of self-management without a manager setting tasks.
• Success measured by user outcomes, not lines of code.
• Exceptional written English (C1+).
• Professional proficiency in German is required for client calls.
