About the Role

As a Cyber Security Officer Apprentice, you will provide essential operational capacity to manage day-to-day security workloads. This role involves assisting senior analysts with investigations, deploying and managing security tools, responding to security tickets, and contributing to security awareness programs. You will also research emerging security technologies and stay informed about global threats.

Responsibilities

  • Help senior cybersecurity analysts conduct root-cause analysis on complex security incidents.
  • Deploy and manage security tools for risk assessments and vulnerability scans.
  • Act as a first responder to escalated security tickets, reviewing logs and system activities.
  • Maintain and update security documentation, playbooks, and standard operating procedures.
  • Execute security awareness programs, phishing simulations, and training updates.
  • Research and evaluate emerging security technologies and OSINT tools.
  • Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity news, global threats, and zero-day vulnerabilities.

Requirements

  • 64 UCAS points from Level 3 qualifications, including Maths.
  • At least 18 years of age upon enrollment (September 2026).
  • Not be in full-time education or receiving funding for other learning programs upon enrollment.
  • Full UK Right to Work for the duration of the apprenticeship.
  • Valid and eligible residency status and be a UK resident for 3 years before the start of the apprenticeship.
  • Ideally an understanding of fundamental networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS), operating systems, cloud environments, and modern vector landscapes.
  • Problem-solving and natural investigative skill-set.
  • Demonstrate genuine consumption of cybersecurity news outlets, vendor advisory channels, and industry threat intelligence feeds.
