About the Role
The Procurement Manager will implement procurement strategies in cooperation with Category Managers on a Multi-local level, manage the operational and tactical procurement of goods and services, and lead Strategic Sourcing activities for designated sites through competitive bidding and contract negotiations. This role leverages the area vendor base to lower TCO, identifies aggregated spend benefit opportunities across the region, and coordinates contractor service selection and pre-qualification in compliance with company standards. The position drives savings, supply efficiency, quality, and process improvements in the region, aligning with Zone and Global strategies.
Responsibilities
- Manage the operational and tactical Procurement of goods and services categories in accordance with Amrize category strategy, policies, procedures, and specifications.
- Influence and drive change with peer group (Plant Managers, Regional General Managers, Operations Leads) for the assigned geography, acting as the point of contact between country Category Management and Operations.
- Drive the realization of savings, supply efficiency, quality, and process improvements in Country, aligning with regional and global strategies, and identify saving opportunities to initiate projects and initiatives.
- Negotiate local volumes, processes, quality levels, and prices in coordination with Category Management.
- Negotiate regional area purchasing contracts and manage/develop Buyers/Warehouse Managers.
- Identify regional savings opportunities and ensure global local policies and procedures are conveyed to end users.
- Ensure Procurement Compliance and Best Practices (Procurement Policies and Procedures – Buy Ways) and act as Procurement Lead for Regional Training requirements.
- Initiate and support the RFx process locally as defined by category strategy and align internal decision makers through focused communication.
- Approve local purchase orders for supplies, equipment, and services within authorized limits, ensuring compliance with laws, ethical standards, policies, and codes of business conduct.
- Ensure own country executes category strategy as required and agreed, and find and eliminate root causes for compliance issues.
- Measure performance through KPIs, ensure locally generated savings are reported as required, and track achieved results for presentation at Operational and Executive levels.
- Demonstrate commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies, and promote a culture of safety.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years in a procurement role (category management, sourcing, operations).
- Exposure to supply chain management, strategic sourcing, and optimal procurement processes and standards.
