About the Role

The Digital Fundraising Specialist delivers digital strategies and campaigns to maximize revenue from existing supporters across email, SMS, and other direct digital channels. This role supports donor retention and development by designing and implementing digital communications as part of donor journeys and ongoing engagement programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an annual multi-channel digital fundraising plan with a focus on email and SMS marketing.
  • Collaborate on the delivery of digital communications for multi-channel donor journeys.
  • Set and achieve annual and campaign-specific income, donor, and media performance targets.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with digital vendors.
  • Align digital fundraising strategies with broader communications and engagement plans.
  • Include impact updates to donors within donor journeys.
  • Support digital donor acquisition initiatives, including welcome and receipt emails.
  • Create digital communications using existing marketing platforms and fundraising tools.
  • Continuously test, optimize, and refine digital campaigns to improve donor experience and performance.
  • Monitor and report on key fundraising metrics, retention rates, and financial performance.
  • Adjust budget allocations based on campaign performance to maximize ROI.
  • Track digital fundraising expenses, process invoices, and manage budget issues.
  • Coordinate activities to ensure brand alignment and maximize impact.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of digital fundraising and marketing with familiarity with Canadian market trends.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Marketing Cloud Engagement or similar digital marketing tools.
  • Intermediate proficiency in HTML and CSS.
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure within tight timelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to occasionally travel locally, nationally, and internationally (less than 10%).
