About the Role

The Design Manager collaborates with the Director of Design to develop, execute, and review building design projects for global franchised and company restaurants. This role ensures brand integrity across new and reimaged restaurant designs while managing project timelines and architectural standards.

Responsibilities

• Create floorplans, conceptual design packages, and site plans in AutoCAD for new restaurant designs.
• Provide guidance to architectural consultants to ensure adherence to design specifications.
• Manage and track design projects with weekly touchpoints for franchisees, architects, and general contractors.
• Review and approve franchisee-submitted site-adapted plans and renderings.
• Support US and international reimage initiatives by collaborating with the Remodel Team.
• Produce design studies using hand drawings, Adobe Photoshop, or other graphic software.
• Manage brand trade dress, imaging elements, custom décor, and exterior signage.
• Coordinate with equipment, signage, and furniture vendors.
• Maintain prototype drawings, design standards, tools, and reference documents.
• Update company databases with project documentation, photos, and floorplans.
• Conduct research on new design trends, materials, and methods.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in restaurant design, preferably in QSR.
• Fundamental understanding of the construction process, including structure, MEP, and interior/exterior elements.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Bluebeam or Acrobat Pro.
• Familiarity with MS Office suite, MS Teams, and OneDrive.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects with changing criteria simultaneously.
• Superior written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 15% for site visits, trade shows, and product testing.
• Experience with the metric system is a plus.
