About the Role

You will work directly with technology companies to negotiate and advise on commercial agreements. This role involves close collaboration with founders and the technical team to shape the firm's operations, tools, and workflows, aiming to make legal work faster and more consistent. Your expertise will also educate the platform, enhancing its capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including NDAs, MSAs, SaaS agreements, SOWs, and partnership contracts.
• Advise clients on risk, priorities, and negotiation strategies.
• Communicate directly with clients and counterparties to advance matters.
• Identify patterns in contracts and negotiations to improve templates, clauses, and playbooks.
• Provide input on the design of AI-powered workflows for optimal client service.
• Help define standards for legal delivery, including client communication and matter management processes.

Requirements

• 4-10 years of experience at a leading law firm or in-house.
• Significant experience with commercial agreements.
• Experience working with technology companies, including negotiating SaaS, data processing, and other commercial agreements, is preferred.
• Strong commercial instincts and the ability to provide clear, practical advice.
• A proactive approach to identifying and improving repetitive issues.
• Frustration with the time taken by routine legal work and openness to changing established methods.
