About the Role
This position is part-time, working Wednesday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm. The role involves assisting in fulfilling wholesale orders, receiving purchase orders, maintaining an orderly and safe warehouse, accurate inventory counting, and picking raw materials to support bakery operations.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload trucks and or trailers utilizing a hi-lo/lift/forklift.
- Locate and move stock throughout the warehouse in preparation for shipments utilizing a hi-lo/lift/forklift.
- Receive raw materials & put them away according to storage plan.
- Support production by delivering/removing raw materials daily.
- General warehouse maintenance to support the sanitation department, including emptying trash, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and general organization.
- Ensure refrigeration and freezers are kept orderly and clean.
- Assist in warehouse equipment cleanliness.
- Adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP).
- Maintain proper storage with allergen awareness.
- Comply with Zaro’s Safety programs.
- Maintain and handle large moving pieces of equipment in an efficient and safe manner.
- Report quality and safety outages and work to correct where necessary to prevent injury or loss.
- Annual Forklift training may be required.
Requirements
- Must be able to work in a cold environment.
- Perform essential job functions safely and successfully while maintaining qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Must work in varied temperature conditions: inside/outside, cold temperature zones (freezer, refrigerator, dry area).
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs consistently.
- Work in an environment with minimal chemical hazards, vibration, dust, and vehicle noise.
- Able to maintain regular punctual attendance.
- Able to stand for extended periods.
- May be required to squat, reach, bend, pull, push, or be otherwise physically engaged consistently during their shift.
- Experience utilizing various warehouse equipment, including forklift, pallet jack, and shrink wrap machinery.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a warehouse environment or equivalent job duties.
- Follow scheduling procedures, punctual start to the shift, consistent attendance.
- Ability to read English.
- Ability to work as part of a diverse team and/or independently.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Basic math skills.
- Excellent communication skills – oral and written.
- Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs.
- Able to multitask and work with a sense of urgency.
