About the Role
The G Driver is responsible for helping customers safely get the equipment they need, ensuring a positive customer experience through attentive service and prompt responses. This role involves delivering and picking up various products, explaining their operation, and providing solutions-based assistance.
Responsibilities
- Safely load, transport, and operate various products including equipment fleet, heating fleet, and fuels/propane bottles, and explain their operation to customers.
- Ensure all loads are properly secured and loaded/unloaded safely within customer time parameters.
- Responsible for a maximum haul category of 9,000 lbs in up to an F450 truck.
- Provide solutions-based service, necessary instructions, and assist customers as required.
- Immediately advise manager of all customer complaints.
- Ensure equipment being picked up is not damaged and all appropriate accessories are present.
- Treat every customer in a fair and consistent manner.
- Remain professional in conduct and appearance.
- Follow all paperwork procedures related to product delivery and pick-up.
- Maintain all inventory control documents to preserve the integrity of the Rental Management computer system.
- Complete all reports related to vehicle usage, such as run sheets, inspection reports, and maintenance.
- Complete a daily truck inspection at the start of the day and keep it on file.
- Fill the vehicle with fuel at the end of every day.
- Ensure the vehicle’s yearly inspection is up to date.
- Ensure all tie-down gear is in compliance with MTO.
- Report any damage or maintenance required for the vehicle to the manager.
- Ensure truck run sheets are legible and the daily inspection form is stapled to the run sheet daily.
- Check in with the manager for duties or activities when not on delivery, such as pre-loading or equipment checks.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle, store/OSC, and surrounding areas.
- Adhere to all customer safety standards when on-site.
- Maintain a shared responsibility for health and safety by following Safety Commitments, PPE requirements, SOPs, and Policies.
- Report any unsafe working conditions and ensure self and co-workers wear PPE and follow SOPs and policies.
Requirements
- Must be able to lift and load up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
- Bona fide job requirement to wear PPE safely and as per regulations: Hard hat, Steel toed boots, High Vis vest or uniform, Safety glasses.
Skills
- Safe driving
- Ability to reverse a truck using mirrors only
- Ability to raise and lower the hydraulic bed on a single axle truck
- Use for single pieces of equipment, skid steer loaders, or multiple smaller scissor lifts
- Heating equipment delivery and pickup
