About the Role

The Children’s Waiver Service Program provides individualized services to maintain children with serious emotional disturbances, developmental disabilities, or medical fragility in their communities, reducing the need for residential treatment and hospitalization. The Waiver Service Provider (WSP) will offer services to enhance the child's life, which can include the child, caregivers, and family members, primarily in the child's home or community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 1 Community Habilitation Services, including face-to-face support for acquiring, maintaining, and enhancing daily living skills.
  • Offer Level 1 Respite Services, engaging the child in community activities to provide personal time off for the family.
  • Deliver Level 1 Caregiver Family Supports and Services, offering concrete services and education on available resources to enhance the child's social interactions.
  • Provide Level 2 Prevocational Services to prepare youth aged 14 and over for paid work, volunteer opportunities, or career exploration.
  • Offer Level 2 Supportive Employment Services to assist participants in work settings.
  • Deliver Level 3 Community Self Advocacy Training and Supports, educating families, caregivers, and collateral contacts on techniques and resources to manage the child's behavior and diagnosis.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required for Level 1.
  • Associate's degree plus 1 year of experience working with young adults required for Level 2.
  • Master's degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or Human Services field with 1 year of applicable experience, OR a Bachelor's degree with 2 years of applicable experience required for Level 3.
  • Experience serving children with disabilities in a professional or personal capacity.
  • Covid vaccine required.
  • Excellent written, computer literacy (all major software), and verbal communication skills.
