About the Role

The Finance industry is undergoing significant transformation due to new regulatory requirements, digital innovations, and geopolitical developments. In the Future Tech team, we advise financial industry companies at the intersection of business, politics, and administration, helping them navigate regulatory changes and evolve their strategies. We are seeking an Associate to join our Finance cluster within FutureTech.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in projects and workstreams focused on key political and regulatory topics, particularly in financial markets and regulation.
  • Research, analyze, and structure political debates, regulatory trends, and legislative processes, especially in finance and fintech.
  • Continuously monitor national and European political and regulatory developments and assess their relevance for clients.
  • Support clients' strategic positioning in the political and regulatory landscape through position papers, analyses, and decision memos.
  • Participate in project and partner management, including preparing and organizing mandates, events, and internal processes.
  • Actively contribute to the development of thematic focuses, communication formats, and networks within the Finance cluster.

Requirements

  • Completed university degree, preferably in Political Science, Economics, Social Sciences, Law, Communication Studies, or a related field.
  • Initial practical experience in consulting, public affairs, political institutions (e.g., Bundestag, ministries, associations), or the finance/fintech industry (e.g., internships, working student roles).
  • Interest in financial policy and financial market issues, as well as regulatory and technological developments in the financial sector.
  • Basic understanding of national and European political and regulatory contexts, or a strong motivation to quickly and independently acquire this knowledge.
  • Analytical thinking skills with a structured, meticulous, and solution-oriented approach.
  • Proactive, responsible, and enjoys collaborating in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Very good communication skills in German (fluent) and very good written and spoken English skills.
