About the Role

This 12-month fixed-term contract covers the Head of Event Operations role. The position involves managing a portfolio of events from concept to delivery, overseeing a team, and ensuring events are delivered effectively, efficiently, and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Train and manage team members, supporting their development, including new managers.
  • Ensure all events are delivered effectively, efficiently, and within budget.
  • Forecast, determine, and maintain accurate records of event spend.
  • Negotiate and contract venues for various events, with contract signing authority up to £50,000.
  • Produce and file important event documentation, including timelines, contracts, travel plans, and supplier details.
  • Produce proposals for flagship events for the wider Events team.
  • Determine and maintain accurate records of event spend for each event.
  • Communicate effectively with sales, editorial, sponsorship, production, and other Centellic departments.
  • Handle issues and troubleshoot problems from the office and onsite, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Lead the running of the portfolio's flagship events, negotiating high-value contracts and complex event management.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Event Operations on quarterly cost reconciliation.
  • Work with the Director of Event Operations to report quarterly event cost forecasts vs budget.
  • Conduct pre and post-event evaluations with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • At least 8-10 years of experience.
  • Proven track record of managing a team.
  • Proven track record of delivering first-class paid delegate B2B events and conferences.
