About the Role

The Loren Hotel is seeking a Nido Server to provide luxury service, prepare and serve drinks, and ensure guest satisfaction according to The Loren standards of hospitality. This role involves maintaining cleanliness, managing guest checks, and responding to inquiries while embodying the hotel's commitment to elegance and flair.

Responsibilities

• Greets and takes food and drink orders from guests, serving orders and accommodating special needs/requests.
• Remains attentive to customers, adhering to or exceeding service standards.
• Completes restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing side work.
• Memorizes menu items, recipes, and daily specials to answer questions and make recommendations.
• Maintains cleanliness standards on the pool deck, wait station, and kitchen service area.
• Controls allocated guest checks by following established check-use procedures.
• Receives proper payment from guests and ensures accuracy of guest checks and payment methods.
• Attends all pre-meal and departmental meetings.
• Responds to customer inquiries and comments in person and on the phone.
• Presents a clean and professional appearance at all times.
• Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
• Performs other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by leadership.

Requirements

• High school or equivalent education.
• TABC Certification.
• Food Handler Certification.
• 1+ year of restaurant service experience.
• Hotel luxury experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of customer service principles, food server functions, and restaurant/kitchen operations.
• Knowledge of standard cash-handling procedures.
• Fluent in oral and written English.
• Vision ability to clearly see detailed guest checks, computer printouts, written instructions, and observe the entire restaurant in dimly lit conditions.
• Manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items, and balance/carry trays.
• Highly organized and able to pay attention to minute written and verbal details, especially when performing multiple tasks.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to use tact and understanding when dealing with customer service problems, including stressful situations.
• Physically capable of prolonged standing, walking, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle, and finger items.
• Full range of mobility and ability to travel up to 300 feet throughout the shift.
• Continuous standing during preparation and service hours.
• Moderate hearing to hear customers, supervisors, and communicate with staff.
• Excellent vision to see that product is prepared appropriately.
• Moderate comprehension and literacy to read records and special requests.
• Ability to pay attention to sound and sight details in crowded and noisy situations.
• Works in an inside/outside environment, predominantly indoors.
