About the Role
Optiver is building a systematic credit trading business and seeks a Quantitative Engineer to lead technical projects, shape trading infrastructure, and leverage technology for business success. The credit engineering team collaborates with researchers and traders to design systems for trading bonds, fixed income ETFs, and credit derivative products.
Responsibilities
- Establish the vision and technical direction for major credit trading initiatives.
- Design, develop, support, and maintain credit trading infrastructure, including RFQ trading platforms, create/redeem platforms, portfolio trading systems, OMS, and EMS.
- Contribute to pricing, research, and trading models for market-making and proprietary trading strategies.
- Collaborate with traders and researchers to solve trading problems and build the business.
- Participate in building a new business from inception.
Requirements
- Strong engineering instincts and a deep understanding of computer science fundamentals.
- Programming experience in C++ or C, with other object-oriented languages considered.
- Experience optimizing high-throughput systems for real-time processing of pricing and trade data.
- Familiarity with market microstructure and trading domain for US corporate credit markets, fixed income ETFs, and/or credit derivatives (CDS, CDX indices).
- Experience with connectivity to electronic trading venues and FIX protocol for credit markets.
- Readiness to set technical direction, promote strong engineering principles, and continuously refine systems in a fast-moving environment.
- Ability to identify opportunities to enhance performance, efficiency, and maintainability.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
