About the Role
The Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional beverage service at catered events, including weddings, corporate functions, galas, concerts, and private receptions. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and breaking down a fully functioning bar while delivering outstanding guest service and ensuring compliance with all alcohol service regulations.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and maintaining an organized, fully stocked bar station before, during, and after events.
- Setting up glassware, mixers, garnishes, ice, beer, wine, spirits, and other beverage supplies.
- Preparing and serving cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages efficiently.
- Providing a welcoming and professional guest experience.
- Engaging with guests, answering questions about beverage offerings, and ensuring service aligns with hospitality standards.
- Maintaining compliance with Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) requirements.
- Verifying identification when necessary.
- Monitoring alcohol consumption to ensure responsible service practices.
- Assisting with bar breakdown, inventory reconciliation, cleaning, and proper storage of equipment and supplies.
Requirements
- Professional, dependable, and thrive in fast-paced hospitality environments.
- Minimum of 1 year of bartending experience, preferably in catering, hospitality, restaurants, hotels, or event environments.
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, and beverage service techniques.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a high-volume service environment.
- Professional appearance and demeanor when interacting with guests and clients.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with event teams.
- Weekend, evening, and holiday availability required based on event schedules.
- Valid California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to event locations throughout the Bay Area.
- Experience working catered events, banquets, weddings, or large-scale hospitality functions.
- Knowledge of beverage presentation, wine service, and specialty cocktails.
- Experience working alongside culinary, service, and event management teams.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often exceeding 8 hours.
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, and moving throughout event spaces.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume event environments.
