About the Role
Schneider Electric's Digital Energy Business is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join their Major Pursuits Sales team. This role focuses on generating leads and securing sales by engaging with clients early, fostering business partnerships, and negotiating deals. The primary objective is to source sales for Major Pursuits across various market segments, collaborating with large-scale clients to strategically design total building management and other Schneider Electric solutions using the EcoStruxure platform to drive client efficiencies and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Act as a sales hunter, generating and following up on leads to create interest in Schneider's offerings.
- Achieve growth by building solid relationships with prospective clients and understanding their needs, pain points, and strategic direction.
- Communicate with business decision-makers at all levels to identify needs, requirements, and market opportunities.
- Negotiate and close sales with varying contract lengths and fee ranges.
- Collaborate with marketing management on promotional activities to enhance company image and brand awareness.
- Provide regular feedback on Schneider's market positioning.
- Ensure effective coordination of client engagement by involving Schneider SMEs and internal resources, positioning early, aligning C-Suite, and presenting Schneider Electric's value proposition to diverse stakeholders and personas across the client's organization and the construct value chain.
Requirements
- Proven track record in solution selling to large-scale, complex clients.
- Familiarity with selling digital offerings, particularly in BMS, ISP, Security Systems, and ICN.
- Solid experience within the Construction Industry, either selling to or from clients as an End User or Consultant.
- Experience building relationships and confidently selling to Tier One contractors and subcontractors.
- Persistence in following up on leads and moving prospects through the sales cycle.
- Experience managing tenders and tailoring them to provide unique solutions.
- Ability to develop and execute a bid strategy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience presenting to and liaising with senior stakeholders within the C-suite of major local and global companies.
- Tertiary qualification complemented by excellent customer service experience in a direct customer-facing role (e.g., Sales or Client Relationship Manager).
- Experience utilizing Salesforce as a primary CRM tool.
- Must have working rights in Australia at the time of application.
- Will be required to provide documented evidence if selected for interview.
