About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Retail Income Pricing to join our Retail Actuarial & Reinsurance team at a pivotal time for our business. In this role, you’ll take ownership of the end‑to‑end commercial pricing strategy for our Retail Income products — ensuring they’re robust, competitive and aligned to our wider financial objectives. Reporting directly to the Retail Actuarial & Reinsurance Director, you’ll combine technical excellence with commercial insight, while leading and developing a high‑performing, highly engaged team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on our Retail Income Pricing strategy, by developing and maintaining pricing data, models and processes.
  • Identify ways to automate or improve efficiency through AI or other means.
  • Own the Retail Income pricing performance, ensuring it is robust and up-to-date.
  • Support the achievement of the function’s financial objectives.
  • Identify and lead on initiatives to improve optimisation and conversion of our income products through pricing.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial and distribution leads.
  • Partner with the Retail Reinsurance team to ensure reinsurance is optimised for the pricing strategy.

Requirements

  • Qualified FIA, FFA or equivalent.
  • Significant experience in the “at or in retirement” market, focused on product development and pricing activities.
  • Managerial level experience gained within a UK life insurance company and/or consultancy.
  • Proven experience of leading on pricing related projects or development projects or similar.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent ability to lead and influence others.
  • Strong strategic vision and development skills.
  • Understanding of the competitive landscape (both distribution and product) of the retirement income and long term care market.
  • Team player with focus on leadership by example.
  • Ability to work under pressure, in a fast moving environment, to tight deadlines.
  • Self-starter who is able to deliver with little help and guidance.
