About the Role

As a Powder Coat Technician, you will select, mix, and apply paints or chemicals to various surfaces using different application devices, like a spray gun. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-technology manufacturing environment and collaborates effectively across all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Follow all principles and practices of powder coating application.
• Prepare, match colors, and mix standard and other primers, paints, and coatings to proper consistency and viscosity, using thinners, solvents, additives, and agitators as required.
• Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects.
• Determine paint flow, viscosity, and coating quality by performing visual inspections or using viscometers.
• Ensure all components are produced/coated efficiently and are consistent with company established goals for quality and customer order on-time performance.
• Perform proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
• Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
• Follow quality service and safety standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Requirements

• One to two years related experience or equivalent.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards.
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow.

Skills

• Knowledge of thermosetting resin coatings, wash, and pretreatments.
• Good knowledge of the mechanics and repair of painting equipment.
