About the Role

Own the Transaction Monitoring Program (TMP), including rule strategy, governance, operations, analytics, and cross-functional delivery. Drive model inventory governance and audit/exam readiness. Lead advisory support for new products and subsidiaries, ensuring high-quality alert generation and case creation with measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Own rule library strategy from execution to optimization.
  • Develop, build, test, launch, monitor, and tune thresholds across rule families.
  • Lead alert backfills when logic/data sources change and communicate volume impacts.
  • Secure approvals for production changes.
  • Publish optimization reports with alert-to-case/SAR performance and threshold recommendations.
  • Drive training where needed.
  • Track rule evaluation to CCMS alert creation and remediate misses with Engineering.
  • Lead annual confirmations under the Model Risk Management Framework (MRMF) for Transaction Monitoring models.
  • Respond to audit/exam requests and maintain evidence, logs, and traceability.
  • Coordinate with FIU investigations, Ops, and Engineering/DS for payloads, thresholds, and workflow efficacy.
  • Run periodic post-implementation reviews with Ops/FIU.
  • Partner with Product/Engineering on data dependencies, critical data elements, and CCMS/TMS integrations.
  • Establish rule-level targets and program metrics.
  • Monitor and report performance trends to leadership and recommend corrective actions.
  • Drive data reconciliation and backfill quality checks when introducing new sources.
  • Manage data dependencies and schema changes with Engineering.
  • Partner with TM Ops on tagging rigor, prioritization, and review methods.
  • Deliver targeted training aligned to optimization findings and annual reviews.

Requirements

  • 8+ years AML/BSA/CTF experience with direct ownership of Transaction Monitoring programs, rule design/optimization, analytics, and case lifecycle.
  • Proven cross-functional delivery with Ops, FIU, Product, and Engineering.
  • Expert knowledge of AML typologies, KYC/EDD, OFAC/Sanctions, model risk governance, and CCMS/TMS workflows.
  • Confident with audit/exam processes and evidence management.
  • Proficiency in SQL (mandatory), Python (preferred), Tableau/BI, and advanced Excel.
  • Experience with large-scale data extraction/transformation.
  • Experience with rule payload design and target reporting.
  • Strong program management skills.
  • Strong stakeholder influence skills.
  • Strong written communication skills (optimization reports, BRDs, governance memos).
  • Demonstrated risk judgment.
  • Ability to translate policy to operations.
  • Data-driven decisioning capabilities.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders without authority.
