About the Role

McGard is seeking a highly talented and motivated Process Engineer I to join their dynamic team and contribute to the company's ongoing success in manufacturing high-quality, precision-engineered automotive security products and components.

Responsibilities

  • Manage technical aspects of McGard/L. D. McCauley manufacturing, sorting, and assembly processes.
  • Ensure achievement of continuous improvement within area of expertise and business areas to meet Company objectives and satisfy customers.
  • Complete and maintain all required safety classes, trainings, and certifications.
  • Understand the relevance and importance of their activities and how they contribute to quality objectives.
  • Work regularly scheduled shifts, with the ability to work overtime and weekends.
  • Comply with related IATF/ISO procedures.
  • Meet qualitative and quantitative standards for the position and department.
  • Be available for reassignment to other departments for business needs.
  • Manage all aspects of process management, including establishing process goals, recommending process equipment, establishing process set points, establishing process controls, establishing process metrics, and troubleshooting technical issues by expected due dates.
  • Work closely with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Controls Engineering, Production Control, Manufacturing, Assembly, and QA.
  • Establish new production processes using inputs from Product Engineering, QA, and the responsible manufacturing/assembly department.
  • Provide tooling and equipment expectations to Manufacturing Engineering for design/procurement.
  • Prove out new processes prior to releasing for production.
  • Lead process improvement teams to reduce scrap, increase utilization, improve throughput, and improve safety.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing techniques, six sigma tools, and engineering problem-solving skills.
  • Investigate new technologies to establish new processes, obtain process improvements, and/or reduce costs.
  • Perform cost analysis to determine process costs or cost savings.
  • Perform internal rates of return calculations to ensure projects provide the proper return on investment.
  • Follow all quality systems procedures.
  • Travel may be required to support projects, manage process issues, and support customer issues.
  • Manage and attend meetings for assigned projects.
  • Communicate status results via any required media.
  • Interface with people at all levels of the company.
  • Provide reports, presentations, and knowledge-based documents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Experience with 2D drawings.

Salary/Compensations

  • $75,000 - $85,000 Annually DOE
