About the Role
The Sales Coordinator is responsible for revenue production for the hotel, meeting or exceeding planned revenue objectives for occupancy and average daily rate. This role manages all areas of sales according to Island Hospitality Management and Brand Standards to achieve a professional rapport within the local business community. The Sales Coordinator assists with promotional materials, administrative duties, and maintains constant contact with the hotel General Manager and Director of Sales. This position may require flexible scheduling availability.
Responsibilities
- Involved in community and/or government affairs to ensure effective marketing of the hotel
- Demonstrate commitment to guest service by responding to guest needs
- Develop and implement marketing and sales plans based on demand segments to maximize REVPAR and Market Share
- Understand competitor success in each demand segment and directly market/sell against the competition
- Know key accounts and actively 'sells' through sales calls, property tours, strategic marketing, etc.
- Prepare required reports for the management team
- Maintain vendor and client information where necessary
- Collaborate with Front Office Team to ensure group and special corporate directives are executed properly and goals are achieved
Requirements
- Must be an 'Hands-On' team member who is actively involved on a daily basis
- Ability to drive outside sales calls
- Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
- Must be effective in handling workplace problems including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving them
- Ability to work well in stressful situations
- Readily available and approachable for all guests while providing excellent guest service
- Regularly required to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time
- Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- The number of hours scheduled per week is variable and based on guest occupancy, season, staffing, and other factors. A specific number of work hours per week cannot be guaranteed.
