About the Role
As the Treasury Operations Manager for our Francophone Africa corridors, you will own the risk and operational framework for our highest-reward markets. This hands-on role sits at the intersection of treasury operations and credit risk, ensuring Taptap Send takes the right risks, manages partner exposures effectively, and keeps money moving safely and efficiently. You will work directly with intermediary financial partners, build structured processes, and make sound risk decisions in ambiguous environments. This role reports into senior leadership and plays a critical part in corridor growth strategy, requiring cross-functional collaboration and serving as the internal expert on treasury risk for the region.
Responsibilities
- Own Treasury Operations & Risk Management: Take full ownership of treasury operations and credit risk across Francophone Africa corridors.
- Assess & Monitor Counterparty Risk: Evaluate and track risk exposure with intermediary financial partners in high-volatility, emerging market environments.
- Build & Maintain Risk Frameworks: Design practical, scalable risk processes for corridors where regulatory frameworks move quickly.
- Identify & Mitigate Operational Exposures: Surface risks before they become problems and develop concrete mitigations.
- Partner Relationship Management: Maintain strong working relationships with financial partners and institutions across Francophone Africa.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with finance, compliance, legal, and markets teams.
- Communicate Risk Positions Clearly: Present risk assessments and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Requirements
- Meaningful, hands-on exposure to credit or counterparty risk, owned in volatile, real-world conditions.
- Experience working in or closely with emerging markets (particularly in Africa, India, or LatAm).
- Background in fintech, payments, remittances, or risk-focused consulting is strongly preferred.
- Banking backgrounds are welcome for candidates earlier in their career (~5 years) who have been in the middle of things.
- A track record of personally building, changing, or delivering initiatives.
- Fluency in both French and English is a requirement.
