About the Role

This position is responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development, and maintenance of best-in-class software experiences. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate effectively within a team and across the organization, taking ownership of software artifacts and adhering to U.S. Bank standards to ensure minimal impact on the customer experience. Familiarity with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, testing, operating, and maintaining products.
  • Taking full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code.
  • Creating optimal designs adhering to architectural best practices, considering scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Performing analysis on failures, proposing design changes, and encouraging operational improvements.
  • Making sound design/coding decisions with a focus on customer experience.
  • Incorporating feedback from code reviews to meet standards.
  • Conducting code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance.
  • Ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices.
  • Exhibiting a relentless focus on software reliability engineering standards.
  • Embracing emerging technology opportunities and contributing to best practices for technology transformation.
  • Contributing to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Critically reviewing tasks, ensuring appropriate prioritization and sizing for incremental delivery, and anticipating/communicating blockers and delays.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience.
  • Strong experience developing in JavaScript, TypeScript & NodeJS.
  • Experience architecting and implementing high-performing software applications.
  • Strong understanding of MongoDB and Non-Relational Database modeling.
  • Proficiency with a modern front-end framework such as Ember or React.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/Cloudbees) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Experience with cloud service providers like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with SQL and Relational Database modeling.
  • Adeptness with agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation for APIs (e.g., Swagger) and components.
  • Ability to mentor and coach engineers of all skill levels.
