About the Role
This position is responsible for generating sales of the Company’s OviTex product portfolio in their assigned geographic territory. The Territory Manager will develop and maintain strong working relationships with surgeons, hospital administrators and nursing staff to ensure appropriate use of the Company’s FDA cleared products. The successful candidate must be able to communicate complex clinical data to assist surgeons in appropriate product selection based on patient co-morbidities and wound classifications.
Responsibilities
- Educate physicians on the benefits of OviTex to patients and hospitals, its ease of use, and appropriate technique and placement.
- Communicate complex clinical data to assist surgeons in appropriate product selection based on patient co-morbidities and wound classifications.
- Collaborate with the Company’s commercial team (marketing, customer service, commercial development) to achieve successful outcomes for hospitals, surgeons, and patients.
- Develop business plans to meet short-term revenue objectives and optimize longer-term opportunities within the geographic area.
- Maintain and update the Company’s CRM database with current hospital and surgeon information.
- Participate in national and regional commercial team meetings and calls, sharing best practices with peers.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Subject to DMV and other required background and reference checks.
- Ability to carry and lift product inventory of up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to stand for a minimum of 4 hours.
- Ability to attend surgical procedures for a minimum of 4 hours.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task in high-pressure, changing conditions.
Skills
- Experience handling biologic tissue-based materials.
- Extensive knowledge of clinical needs of physicians and host response to biologic implants.
- Ability to identify new market opportunities for biologic constructs based on unmet needs.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize work with a focus on timelines and deliverables.
- Strong communication (written, oral, and interpersonal) and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated experience presenting to diverse audiences including employees, physicians, and key opinion leaders.
- Excellent judgment and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to formulate business solutions for a myriad of challenges.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various internal departments and leaders.
- Ability to drive results through partnership, mutual respect, and trust.
Location
- Upstate, NY
- Must be located within the desired territory.
Work Type
- Field office-based position
- Frequent travel within the territory is required
- Travel up to 50%
Experience Level
- Minimum 3+ years of sales experience in the life science industry
- Experience in hernia repair, abdominal wall reconstruction or plastic/soft tissue reconstruction preferred
Education Level
- Bachelor's degree preferred
