About the Role
Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. is seeking a mid-level assessor to join the Building Envelope Solutions team. This role involves performing field observations and tests with minimal analysis, assisting senior staff with various project tasks including fieldwork, research, data compilation, and report preparation.
Responsibilities
- Act as a team member on projects, assisting experienced building envelope consultants.
- Observe, document, and report on construction conformity to drawings, specifications, and guidelines.
- Perform roofing, waterproofing, and building enclosure field observations and testing under senior staff direction.
- Conduct outdoor site observations, existing condition surveys, and destructive/non-destructive tests.
- Assist with field investigations, condition assessments, and develop construction documents, details, and specifications.
- Write summary and technical reports under senior staff direction.
- Evaluate contractor performance to ensure project deliverables and quality standards.
- Contribute to maintaining and improving quality control.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Communicate with senior staff and management to develop solutions for concerns.
- Adhere to company and client safety practices and policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 4+ years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
- 2+ years of AutoCAD/Revit experience is preferred.
- Roof Consultants Institute “RCI”, RRO or EWRO registration or ability to obtain.
- Certified EIFS inspector, Certified Thermographer or similar certifications are preferred.
- Knowledge of building materials and construction processes for roofs and building envelopes.
- Knowledge of building components, systems, and cost estimating.
- Knowledge of multiple types of commercial roofing, exterior cladding, and waterproofing systems.
- Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and specifications.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio.
- Demonstrable track record of excellent time management and ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Ability and willingness to travel potentially 40% to 60% of the time.
- Follow OSHA regulations and demonstrate safe work practices.
- Ability to physically navigate site properties in various weather conditions, climb ladders, and access roofs.
- Ability to operate scissor and boom lifts; certification preferred.
- Able to handle at least 50 lbs regularly.
- Valid Driver’s license.
