About the Role
The Strategic Sourcing Manager will lead sourcing activities for Modular Performance Solutions, collaborating with Category Managers and other Commodity Managers within the Global Category Sourcing division.
Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing activities including supplier investigation, selection, award, raw material cost rolls, material master maintenance, and supplier documentation.
- Manage projects from inception to delivery, creating and adhering to detailed project plans and schedules.
- Lead supplier meetings and participate in project meetings to define scope and objectives.
- Develop category-specific and project costing models and sourcing strategies in collaboration with stakeholders, including Proposal teams.
- Lead global cost reduction initiatives, conduct cost benchmarking, and develop supply risk mitigation strategies.
- Regularly review and update sourcing policies, procedures, and workflows to ensure compliance.
- Ensure compliance with governance and best practices for sourcing, supplier selection, cost evaluation, and approvals.
- Manage supplier performance by engaging with cross-functional partners to drive improvement initiatives.
- Support new product development by evaluating new suppliers and their capabilities.
- Understand plant operations and provide critical supply solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering, or equivalent working experience.
- Minimum eight years of experience in procurement and category management within industrial/manufacturing sectors.
- Minimum five years of experience in global sourcing and category management.
- Direct experience with high-impact commodities, including raw metal alloys, steel fabrications, instrumentation & controls, pumps, valves, and third-party contract manufacturing is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in multi-site and international supply chain environments.
- Hands-on experience developing and implementing best practices for cost management, supplier management, and risk mitigation.
- Strong understanding and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems in an industrial manufacturing setting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a time-sensitive environment.
- Self-motivated to achieve annual goals and objectives.
