About the Role

As a Data Scientist, you will collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to define project scope, ensure technical feasibility, and drive delivery excellence. You will design and deliver bespoke data science solutions, shaping the technical direction of high-impact projects.

Responsibilities

  • Map end-to-end data science approaches and design associated software architecture.
  • Drive technical scoping and feasibility assessments for new projects.
  • Build client relationships by acting as a technical advisor.
  • Deliver bespoke algorithms and scalable software solutions for high-stakes decision-making.
  • Set the technical bar for the project team, ensuring high standards of code, rigour, and delivery quality.
  • Contribute to company thought leadership through teaching, public speaking, or open-source projects.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a professional data science or quantitative academic role.
  • High mathematical and statistical competence.
  • Strong Python programming skills.
  • Proficiency in essential libraries including NumPy and Pandas.
  • Proficiency in a deep-learning framework such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Solid grasp of core data science techniques including supervised/unsupervised learning, time-series, NLP, and model validation.
  • Ability to translate complex business problems into mathematical frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication skills for translating technical solutions to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in project planning, assessing technical feasibility, and estimating delivery timelines.
  • Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC) may be required.
  • Willingness to work on-site with clients from time to time.
