About the Role
As a Data Scientist, you will collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to define project scope, ensure technical feasibility, and drive delivery excellence. You will design and deliver bespoke data science solutions, shaping the technical direction of high-impact projects.
Responsibilities
- Map end-to-end data science approaches and design associated software architecture.
- Drive technical scoping and feasibility assessments for new projects.
- Build client relationships by acting as a technical advisor.
- Deliver bespoke algorithms and scalable software solutions for high-stakes decision-making.
- Set the technical bar for the project team, ensuring high standards of code, rigour, and delivery quality.
- Contribute to company thought leadership through teaching, public speaking, or open-source projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a professional data science or quantitative academic role.
- High mathematical and statistical competence.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Proficiency in essential libraries including NumPy and Pandas.
- Proficiency in a deep-learning framework such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Solid grasp of core data science techniques including supervised/unsupervised learning, time-series, NLP, and model validation.
- Ability to translate complex business problems into mathematical frameworks.
- Exceptional communication skills for translating technical solutions to non-technical audiences.
- Experience in project planning, assessing technical feasibility, and estimating delivery timelines.
- Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC) may be required.
- Willingness to work on-site with clients from time to time.
