About the Role

DRW is seeking a Senior Regulatory Counsel to join its global legal team, focusing on regulatory and strategic matters within the cryptoasset space. This role involves providing legal and regulatory advice, shaping strategic direction for innovative initiatives, and engaging with policymakers.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, risk-weighted legal and regulatory advice to the Cumberland team regarding new business opportunities and daily operations.
• Offer thought leadership and strategic direction on innovative Cumberland initiatives, including trading, investments, and partnerships.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive strategic objectives.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting Cumberland's business and develop strategic positions.
• Engage with industry groups, policymakers, and regulators on relevant matters.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to a state bar.
• 5-10 years of legal experience with a focus on financial laws and regulations, particularly SEC and CFTC.
• Experience analyzing legal and regulatory issues related to cryptoassets and traditional finance (TradFi) products.
• Understanding of U.S. regulatory regimes for cryptoasset trading (SEC, CFTC, NYDFS, AML).
• Must be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and communicate at all levels of the firm.
