About the Role
The Clinical Manager, Child and Youth Mental Health will lead the SNAP Clinical Program, overseeing its clinical and operational performance to ensure high-standard service delivery aligned with the organization's mission, values, and evidence-based practices. This role involves leading, coaching, and supporting a team of clinicians, driving accountability for service delivery, team performance, and program outcomes, and fostering an environment of excellence that promotes knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Manage the growth and performance of the team, including leading, recruiting, supervising, and evaluating clinical staff.
- Identify gaps and areas for improvement, fostering a culture of ongoing knowledge development.
- Support performance management, development planning, and team effectiveness.
- Oversee clinical work and program operations, including scheduling, workload distribution, and caseload management.
- Ensure achievement of key performance indicators and service targets.
- Apply a range of supervision approaches, both individual and group, and provide observational feedback.
- Review clinical work and ensure the quality, consistency, and professionalism of assessment, treatment plans, and interventions.
- Ensure adherence to CYFSA and YCJA legislation, Health and Safety requirements, accreditation standards, and regulatory professional guidelines.
- Maintain a strong understanding of legislative and compliance requirements.
- Monitor and communicate the volume and effectiveness of service delivery against agency and ministry standards.
- Use data and measurement-based approaches to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in the Clinical Managers group to ensure operational practices, standards, and procedures are consistent.
- Support the management of program resources, including budgets and service plans.
- Contribute to program planning, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement.
- Ensure parents, children and youth feel empowered through participation in programs.
- Keep the Senior Manager informed of service delivery issues while recommending improvements.
Requirements
- Registered therapist or Social Worker with a Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related discipline.
- In good standing with a relevant professional college.
- Extensive clinical experience working with children and youth (ages 6–18), families, and groups.
- Minimum of five years of experience providing clinical supervision in a clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches (e.g., CBT, trauma-informed, attachment-based).
- Solid understanding of privacy, ethical, and regulatory standards.
- Experienced clinical leader who can guide staff through complex cases.
- Ability to support high-quality service delivery and contribute to program effectiveness through sound judgment, collaboration, and accountability.
- Hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related discipline and be registered with a relevant professional college (e.g., OCSWSSW, CRPO).
- Experience overseeing clinical service delivery, including managing workloads, caseloads, and service targets.
- Comfortable balancing quality of care with operational effectiveness.
- Ability to use data and measurement-based approaches to monitor outcomes, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.
- Ability to confidently navigate complex and high-risk situations, providing guidance to staff on crisis intervention, case management, and assessment, case formulation and treatment planning.
- Sound judgment, emotional intelligence, and a calm, professional demeanor.
- Effective communicator with strong listening and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build trust with staff, clients, and stakeholders.
