About the Role
AppDirect is seeking an experienced product manager passionate about crafting exceptional customer experiences. This role will focus on managing large-scale, customer-facing web products, particularly in marketplace, e-commerce, or SaaS settings, excelling in cross-functional collaboration and data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of user-centric design, analytics, and identity management to enhance user engagement and retention.
Responsibilities
- Own the billing platform roadmap, with a near-term focus on evolving AppDirect from subscription-based to consumption-based billing models.
- Integrate token-based billing and token management capabilities into the AppDirect marketplace, working closely with the Devs.AI team on platform dependencies.
- Drive automation of accounts receivable and payment reconciliation workflows, reducing manual intervention with measurable efficiency gains.
- Build AI-assisted subscription management features, including right-sizing tools that guide users toward appropriate plans.
- Benchmark AppDirect's billing platform against leading AI billing competitors and deliver a gap analysis with a prioritized roadmap within year one.
- Partner with product design in Figma and engage directly with enterprise clients to clarify contract renewals, upgrades, and billing logic.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of product management experience with a strong focus on billing, invoicing, payments, or subscription management.
- Demonstrated experience shipping consumption-based or usage-based billing features, including familiarity with token usage, metering, and retirement concepts.
- Hands-on experience with payment and money movement APIs such as Stripe, Adyen, or Plaid, including reviewing or producing API documentation.
- Experience with enterprise billing or ERP platforms (e.g., Zuora, Chargebee, NetSuite, or Recurly) is an asset.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as PCI, SOC 2, or ISO 27001 in the context of a payments or billing product is an asset.
- Clear, structured communication skills to translate complex billing and contract logic for enterprise clients, engineering teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Comfort operating across multiple teams and technical dependencies simultaneously, spanning core marketplace, Dev's AI team, and finance workflows.
