About the Role
We are seeking a Private Client Retirement Plan Associate based in New York to service existing and prospective Defined Contribution (DC) and Cash Balance (CB) clients. This role supports both the national small-market DC sales effort and the cash balance plan business for Bernstein Global Wealth Management, a unit of AllianceBernstein. The Associate will analyze financial information for investment strategies, assist with account setup for cash balance plans, and coordinate with outside custodians.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a resource for Defined Contribution questions within the Private Client Department.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of ERISA regulations and the Defined Contribution industry.
- Interact with prospective clients.
- Coordinate responses to RFPs.
- Maintain client management database.
- Distribute research communications.
- Provide sales support to DC Financial Advisors across the country.
- Partner with third-party Recordkeepers and Administrators to ensure successful plan implementation.
- Participate in regular conference calls between critical parties.
- Gather data and documents from clients for account openings.
- Coordinate asset transfer.
- Prepare plan enrollment materials.
- Open/close accounts.
- Process cash flows.
- Prepare client reports and regular due diligence.
- Provide prudent investment advice to Defined Contribution plan participants.
- Prepare marketing presentations.
- Provide general troubleshooting in response to client inquiries.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or economics with excellence in academics and strong leadership experience.
- Two years of industry experience preferred; relevant internships with demonstrated achievement will also be considered.
- Client-focused and detail-oriented.
- Strong ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced atmosphere.
- Strong analytical and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Proficiency in Word and Excel required.
- Accomplished team players who seek a rigorous and challenging environment for career development.
- Associates are required to take exams and pass within the first nine months of employment.
