About the Role

The Media Effectiveness team helps Sky make smarter marketing decisions by measuring the true impact of media and broader commercial drivers on business performance. Sitting within Consumer Strategy, we are at the heart of the business, working across all product areas to inform key decisions. Using advanced analytics and econometric modelling, we quantify what drives sales, optimise media investment, and shape campaign and strategic planning. We work closely with Marketing, Commercial and Finance teams to turn complex data into clear, actionable recommendations that maximise return on every pound invested.

Responsibilities

  • Help drive effectiveness and efficiency of Sky’s media planning through the delivery of econometric insights.
  • Use Media Effectiveness outputs such as Econometrics to support media planning, maximising the return from our media investment.
  • Lead the development of insight to support our Media and Marketing Strategy teams in designing, planning, and phasing campaigns.
  • Run the Annual & Quarterly Cross-Portfolio Optimisation process, to convert Econometrics insights into real-world decisions on budget allocations and changes in real time.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the business to integrate findings seamlessly into business decision-making.
  • Collaborate with wider consumer strategy colleagues to champion the reputation of the department across Sky.
  • Lead the development of new techniques, tools and processes to improve the efficiency and scope of the team’s work, while staying ahead of industry trends.
  • Support the delivery of our Brand Econometrics Programme.

Requirements

  • A passion for supporting complex and dynamic planning processes across a complex organisation.
  • Experience working with Econometrics outputs to influence marketing strategy.
  • Experience sizing, allocating and prioritising media investment decisions in a fast-paced commercial context.
  • A passion for converting observable data and insight into actionable recommendations.
  • An understanding of media planning and marketing strategy.
  • Self-motivated, an enthusiastic attitude and the adaptability to work in a fast paced and dynamic commercial context.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills - be an articulate, positive communicator, with experience of delivering results and recommendations to impact commercial decision making.
